Journal Entry, Summer, 1994: Penny Martens, Terry, and I got up at 1:30 am, so we would have solid snow. Hood is a long day with all of it on snow...all 5,400 vertical feet. There are some who wait until 6:00 am and take a snowcat to 9,000 feet. We opted for the full day. Hood sees many climbers and today was packed with many.
Near the summit, a bergschrund forms. Since we had little experience with this, it was a thrill to make the big step over.

Penny, Mark, and Terry...the smiles says it all! So much fun!
